Store leather in a space from heat, humidity, sunlight, and dust - preferably in a fabric bag (not plastic). Airing out your leather will help prevent mold growth.<\/li><\/ol><h3>To clean your leather<\/h3><ol><li><strong>Prepare a cleaning solution:<br \/>Avoid using harsh detergents or chemicals as they can damage your leather.<\/strong> In a bowl mix a little saddle soap, mild dish soap, or baby shampoo with warm water to create a soapy solution<br \/><strong>(Optional Vinegar Solution for stains)<\/strong> If your leather item has stubborn stains you can create a mild vinegar water solution. 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. Use it to clean the stained areas.<\/li><li><strong>Test a hidden spot<br \/><\/strong>Before cleaning the entire item test the cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area to ensure it doesn't discolor or damage the leather. Wait a few minutes to see how the leather reacts.<\/li><li><strong>Cleaning<\/strong><br \/>Dip a clean cloth into the soapy solution and wring it out, it should be damp not dripping wet. Gently wipe the entire surface of the leather item, paying extra attention to any stains or spots. <strong>Avoid excessive rubbing or scrubbing.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Rinse<\/strong><br \/>Using a second clean cloth, dampened with plain warm water, wipe the soap residue of your leather item.<\/li><li><strong>Dry Thoroughly<\/strong><br \/>Allow your leather item to dry naturally, away from direct sources of heat like direct sunlight, radiators, or forced hot air.<\/li><li><strong>Conditioning<\/strong><br \/>Once your leather item is completely dry you can apply a leather conditioner to keep it soft a supple.
